AYCE Indian Cuisine

March 25, 2013 by Long Pham

When I think about eating out, Indian food generally doesn’t come to mind. There’s no real reason why. I like the food, but I guess I just don’t ever really crave it.

Jeannie’s been trying to drag me to Haveli ever since she read about it on Food Frenzy, when it was an active blog. I finally caved a few weeks ago and joined her for lunch. At only nine bucks for a buffet lunch, I didn’t mind taking a chance.

There are two seating areas in this place, making it look smaller than it actually is. The decor is basic, but who cares. The food is good and fresh tasting. The service is prompt and they bring you fresh naan. It’s cheap and there are plenty of vegetarian choices with a dash of chicken for meat lovers like me.

Haveli Fine Indian Cuisine – Tustin

The buffet line located on the wall to the right as you walk into the restaurant. It’s not massive, but it has all of the staples. More than enough food for the money.

Various Indian chutneys.

The other side of the buffet line. Gulab Jamun is my favorite Indian dessert. It’s a milk curd/cheese based dessert that is mixed with dough and deep fried. Almost like a donut hole soaked in a light syrup. I can eat a bunch of these!

Oranges, Mango Vanilla Pudding, and some kind of lassi or other yogurt based dessert.

Fresh Garlic Naan. You can get plain naan as well.

Vegetable Samosa, Chicken Tikki Masala, Cauliflower and Potatoes (I can’t remember the name of the dish – I think it’s Vindaloo), and Tandoori Chicken.
