The wife and I have been venturing into the areas of Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Alhambra, and Monterey Park to try the plethora of Asian restaurants. Phoenix Food Boutique was recommended to my wife from a co-worker. We drove to Rowland Heights location to have a late dinner one night hoping to have a quick, casual, and delicious experience.
Upon arrival, I found that the restaurant was much smaller than I anticipated. It’s more well suited for take out orders, but they have a single row of small tables on the window side that can occupy small parties. We had to wait for a short while, but the waitresses made room for us quickly because of the baby.
The menu is huge and has all the drinks, casual food, and desserts that you could crave. I sure wish I knew about these kinds of joints when I was working graveyard hours years ago. It would have made some of my late nights off from work more satisfying.
Phoenix Food Boutique – Rowland Heights
Fried Squid with Spicy Salt. Perfectly fried with a fantastic crispy batter. Perfect for sharing.
Hong Kong Style Beef Flat Rice Noodle AKA Beef Chow Fun. Very generous portion of beef and flavorful noodles.
Jeannie was craving Wonton Noodle Soup, which was the real reason we went to Phoenix. Super large stuffed wonton dumplings and a light broth.
Oh my favorite, Honey Walnut Shrimp. Pretty good sized shrimp with a nice light crisp. I actually like it a little bit saucier, but it was good.
I think the waitresses thought we were nuts ordering this much food for just two people. We can be pigs sometimes, but we took a lot of food home for lunch the next day. I mean, who doesn’t like Chinese food leftovers?
Talk to me, Goose.
