Like the previous quarter, I haven’t put much time and effort into this blog during the last quarter. I haven’t had much motivation to write about financial topics – and the truth is, I stopped caring for a while. It’s probably because I think that most people don’t care anyway. Debt lives on, lifestyles get bigger, and…no one really reads this blog.
Not that I’m a prolific writer anyway, but most people arrive here looking to find out whether they should put money in their IRA’s annually or monthly. They get their answer, or become even more confused, and then move on. This blog has become another finance blog disaster taking up space in the world wide web.
So what now? I’ve been debating with myself whether to scrap this project and just write about finance whenever I please on my personal blog. To me, that sounds like a good plan because my personal blog would benefit from having more material, and writing/creating on that blog is much more fun. On the other hand, I get a small amount of search engine mojo here with the topics I have written about. Plus, this blog is branded, so the corporate types know where to find me.
I think that this year is a good time for me to just ignore the noise and do what I want with this blog. I’m going to do what I want, at my own pace. No expectations and no particular desires. I just want to make it fun for me again. If people run into the blog and learn something along the way – great. If not, I really don’t give a damn.
Talk to me, Goose.
