Can Budget For Wealth Become The Best Personal Finance Blog?

January 10, 2012 by Long Pham

When I started tinkering with the idea to start a personal finance blog, I thought I was being unique and I could appeal to many readers who had a desire to learn more about money management, debt reduction, and building wealth through investing. Boy, was I wrong! There are hundreds, if not thousands of personal finance blogs in existence!

Prior to starting this website, I kept up with a few personal finance blogs here and there. I just never knew the depth of range and the multitude of topics and audiences that could be appealed to. There are blogs that focus on budgets, investments, retirement, frugal living, coupon savings, college funding, stock tips, get rich guides, credit repair; the list goes on and on. Some are full-time bloggers who have a lot of experience with not only personal finance, but social marketing and all things web related. Some are part-time bloggers like me who spend their extra time writing and honing their skills because they are passionate about the topics they write about and feel it is important to get their message out to the world.

Money Crashers Top Personal Finance Blogs

The best part about blogging is the community. Once I jumped in and started Budget For Wealth, I realized that pretty much all of the personal finance blog authors out there are very caring and are willing to share and help each other. This is perhaps the number one reason I have become more drawn into the aspect of blogging and the potential that it ignites. I have to admit, on some days it is tough to get the motivation to write. It’s those days that the site doesn’t get any views or there doesn’t seem to be any momentum in the social marketing venues that make me wonder if I’m going to get enough exposure to do well. But, I’m very new to the scene and I have to remind myself that building a quality following will take time.

When I look at all of the successful personal finance bloggers, there is one thing they all have in common. They never gave up. All of them started part-time and then went full force when they acted on a defining moment in their lives. They continued following their passion, even when it was difficult, and perservered. All of these bloggers are now easily found at the top of the charts on the Top Personal Finance Blogs at Money Crashers.

I was recently listed at Money Crashers and debuted on 12/28/2011 at a spectacular rank of #539! I was really excited that I didn’t start in dead last, but as of this writing, I actually declined to #543. I do take my current rank with a great sense of humor knowing that my blog is quite young and there are a lot of metrics that are being taken into account. What’s great about being listed is that I have a great tool to use to compare myself to my peers and it gives me a great challenge to overcome. I cannot wait to climb the ranks, and hopefully someday be in the Top 100 on the first page of the list.

Go check it out! I promise that you will be entertained and learn a lot by reading Money Crashers, or any of the top listed personal finance blogs.
