After my last experience with all you can eat sushi in Orange County, I was a little hesitant to try a new place. However, every time I hear buffet or all you can eat, all my inhibitions, sense of shame, and memory just goes to the wind.
Oishi is a newer sushi restaurant that took over another sushi restaurant at the same strip mall location. Failed restaurant locations usually birth more failed restaurants, but I don’t think that will be the case with Oishi. The fish here is of good quality, as well as the rest of the food. Service was friendly and attentive when I was there for lunch. If I remember correctly, ordering is done on a paper menu with a three round system.
I was pleasantly surprised with this find and Oishi will be my go-to AYCE sushi restaurant in Orange County, unless I find something better.
Oishi Restaurant – Placentia
Fried Gyoza appetizer.
Baked Mussels appetizer. Not dressed in a mayo sauce like most sushi places. It was delicious!
A couple sushi rolls and some Salmon and Yellowtail Nigiri.
Vegetable Tempura appetizer.
Scallops, Mackerel, Red Snapper, Tuna, and Salmon Nigiri.
Oishi’s version of the Dynamite Roll. I could probably do without the bay shrimp, but it’s not bad.
Talk to me, Goose.
