The first time I heard about Sprinkles was when my friend told me he took a ridiculously long drive to go get a batch of cupcakes. Driving a long distance just for some cupcakes was, and is still is something I would not normally do. This time was an exception because I was already driving down to the area for dinner. It was a special occasion and Jeannie had to work, so I figured that I’d stop by after dinner to drop off some dessert for her and her co-workers.
So yeah, it’s a shop that only sells cupcakes. They’re pretty damn expensive and they’re really really sweet. It’s not a cupcake you’d have on a regular basis. Honestly, they’re not my favorite either. However, lots of people love them and they’re willing to drive there and spend a pretty penny for cupcakes.
Apparently Sprinkles has diversified and moved into the ice-cream market as well. Two doors down from the cupcake location, they have a Sprinkles Ice-Cream shop. There, you can get gourmet ice-cream and even get them topped with a cupcake if your heart desires. I love ice-cream but I’m just not willing to stand in line for overpriced ice-cream…yet.
