After our first experience at The Ranch, we’ve pretty much adopted it as our special occasion restaurant. I am always incredibly impressed with the atmosphere, quality of service, and of course – the food. You just can’t go wrong here.
The Ranch Restaurant & Saloon – Anaheim
The Fall Seasonal Menu. It’s a prix fixe and a great way to experience the restaurant. I added the wine pairing too.
It’s been so long I can’t honestly remember how to describe this Sage Brush Martini. Obviously there was sage in it, and it was good!
I really should have gotten to this post earlier. I remember this Amuse Bouche being really good, but I forgot what it was. I think it was celery puree inside some kind of fried shell, topped with caviar.
The Wagonwheel Bread. A perfect selection wrapped up in a perfect presentation.
Hawaiian Ahi Tuna perfectly seared. Served with a light salad and some awesome sauce.
The Ceviche Trio. We got this the last time we came, and it was so good that we ordered it again.
I never have had Oysters Rockefeller until this moment. It was so damn delicious. I could have sat their for hours having drinks and eating nothing but this.
Squid Ink Campanelle. Whenever I think about squid in Italian dishes, I always have to laugh at the memory of some American tourists in Italy unknowingly ordering “cuttlefish” and getting grossed out by it.
My venison eating experience has been limited. I was prepared to have a gamey type of meat, but I was quite surprised when this Red Deer Venison Chop came out. It was extremely tender, rivaling the texture of a filet mignon. Damn, it was good!
Jeannie doesn’t do a lot of red meat, so she ordered the Kurobuta Pork Chop. I had a bite and it was perfectly cooked.
As if we didn’t have enough food already, we ordered a side of Creamed Corn.
I didn’t expect the Goat Cheese Cake to be a deconstructed plate. I don’t really care for the whole “deconstructed” genre, but it was really delicious.
The Ice Cream Trio. I can’t remember the flavors we ordered.
Talk to me, Goose.
