I don’t know how many times I have driven by PK Burgers, but I never even thought about stopping by until I talked to a co-worker about breakfast burritos. She told me that the food is pretty awesome, so one day, instead of driving by, I stopped in.
PK Burger is a small place next to a Shell gas station. It has two tiny parking lots on either side of the restaurant that are really inconvenient to get in and out of. I can only imagine that it is going to get worse when the new community they are building up across the street is finished and they activate the new traffic signal.
Anyway, they have some picnic style bench seats in front and some booths inside. The owners are a nice Korean couple who will frequently take your order from behind the counter. If you order a drink, you just go around and serve yourself from the fountain. It’s a little awkward, but makes the place feel a bit like home. When your order is ready, they’ll call your name over the intercom, which they often just leave on all the time.
They leave salsa, ketchup, ranch, and other condiments out on a tray. Don’t worry, they check on them often and replace/refrigerate as necessary. The place is pretty basic, so don’t expect anything gourmet. Just a fast food place to fill your belly with some comfort food. PK has breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and Mexican food. The pictures below are from two separate trips.
PK Burgers – Brea
Egg Sandwich. I believe you get a choice of meat, so I’m pretty sure the sandwich in the picture above has ham in it. I’m pretty sure they only have white bread, so don’t expect to get a choice of bread.
Bacon Breakfast Burrito. This thing is monstrous!
The inside of a Bacon Breakfast Burrito. Add a little hot sauce, ketchup, or both!
Cheeseburger with Fries. I don’t think it qualifies as the best, but it sure hit the spot.
Chili Cheese Fries. Comparable to Wienerschnitzel, but with larger sized fries.
Talk to me, Goose.
